Understanding the definition and characteristics of curricular design it's a great opportunity to be aware of the importance of curriculum when planning a lesson especially in English. It will help to incorporate new topics and rethink lessons to better prioritize the needs of the students.
Learning objective:
To understand the definition and characteristics of curricular design by analyzing its elements, in order to reflect on its impact on teaching and learning processes.
Instructions:
1. Read and take notes from the following article:
Curriculum Design Explained 5 tips for Educators
2. Take some notes about the components of the curriculum and its definition.
3. Research additional information from reliable sources to strengthen your understanding from the topic.
4. Based on the collected information, record an audio (between 1 and 3 minutes long) in which you explain what the curriculum is and describe its key components. Be sure to include a brief personal reflection on the importance of curriculum design in teaching and how it can enhance student learning.
5. As a recommendation, before starting the recording, you can prepare various support materials to help you express your ideas more clearly—such as summary cards, notes, a whiteboard, or a structured script.
