Reflecting on the teaching process allows educators to evaluate personal growth, assess the effectiveness of strategies, and refine future instructional practices.
The text clearly reflects the impact of gamification and game-based learning in the English Language Teaching.Staying in close contact with the class group and truly understanding their preferences, needs, and characteristics is essential for effective teaching. When we know who our students are and how they learn best, we can design activities that not only fit their learning styles but also genuinely engage them. This becomes even more important when incorporating games and didactic strategies, as their success depends on how well they connect with students’ interests and their natural way of learning. Being aware of the group allows us to prepare flexible activities/tasks that can be adapted, modified, or completely changed within a minute when the class dynamic shifts or unexpected situations arise. Having additional options ready ensures that learning continues naturally and smoothly, without forcing a plan that may no longer suit the moment. Games, in particular, require this adaptability because their interactive nature demands that we read the room and adjust to maintain motivation and participation. Natural learning happens when students feel comfortable, understood, and supported in an environment that responds to their needs rather than restricts them. Incorporating meaningful games and didactic techniques helps create this kind of environment, transforming learning into an active, enjoyable, and authentic experience. For this reason, being adaptable as teachers is fundamental. Reflecting on our work through exercises like this one helps us improve continuously. It gives us the opportunity to analyze what we do, why we do it, and how we can better support meaningful learning experiences.
